Patchwise

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 19 July 2026

Patchwise is an Australian edible-gardening app developed by parkdeve (contact: support@parktechsystems.com). This policy describes exactly what the app does with your information — which is, deliberately, almost nothing.

The short version

  • No account, no sign-up, no email address required.
  • No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no crash-reporting SDKs.
  • Everything you enter stays on your phone. There is no Patchwise server.

What Patchwise stores, and where

All of your garden data lives in the app’s private storage on your device, and nowhere else:

  • Your location (postcode and climate zone), used to match advice to your area
  • Your plantings, tasks, and harvest records
  • Journal entries and the photos you attach to them
  • Your seed box and app settings (including reminder preferences)

Patchwise cannot see, read, or transmit this data. There are no Patchwise servers to send it to.

Camera and photo library

The camera and photo picker are used solely when you choose to photograph a planting or attach a picture to a journal entry. Those photos are stored in the app’s private storage on your device. They are never uploaded anywhere. They leave your device only if you deliberately export a backup file or a plant-story PDF yourself, using the share sheet.

Plant photos from Wikimedia Commons

Plant guide photos are public images from Wikimedia Commons. When you open a plant guide, your phone downloads the photo from upload.wikimedia.org (and caches it for offline viewing later). This request fetches a public image — it carries no information about you or your garden. Each photo is shown with its photographer’s attribution and licence.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled entirely on your device using Android’s local notification system. No push service is involved and no data leaves the phone.

Purchases (Patchwise Plus)

If you buy a Patchwise Plus subscription, the purchase is processed by Google Play Billing, with RevenueCat as the subscription-status provider. RevenueCat receives your Play purchase tokens and an anonymous app-user ID (no name, no email — Patchwise has no accounts) so the app can tell whether Plus is active on your device. Google handles the payment under its own privacy policy. Patchwise itself never sees your payment details; the app only records whether your Plus entitlement is active, on your device.

Backups

Exporting a backup creates a single file (garden data plus photos) that you choose where to keep — for example your Google Drive or email. That file, and where you store it, is under your control and the privacy terms of wherever you put it. Deleting the app (or its data) removes everything Patchwise holds unless you exported a backup first.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling Patchwise deletes everything the app holds. Your plantings, journal entries, notes and photos live only on your phone, in app-private storage, so removing the app removes them. There is no server copy to ask us for, because there is no server and no account.

The one exception is the subscription record described under Purchases: if you have bought Patchwise Plus, RevenueCat holds your Play purchase tokens against an anonymous app-user ID. To have that record deleted, email support@parktechsystems.com with the subject “Delete my Patchwise data”. We will action it within 30 days and confirm by reply. Note that deleting the record does not cancel an active subscription — do that in Google Play → Subscriptions, or you will keep being billed.

Children

Patchwise collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at the same URL with a new effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
